Friday My Town Shoot Out!

I am more of an older architecture kind of gal..but as I was at the park this week looking at the two sisters...I thought how beautiful they were to me from that angle. These two luxury condo buildings created a stir when they went up..high and larger than most everything around them. Some folks were a bit miffed as they blocked the view. These sisters look out over our beautiful lake. But as I snapped shots of them from below..I thought they were quite nice. Starting with a combo shot of their lower floors - you may notice one of our very favorite hang outs...

Each condo in these buildings cost a pretty penny. Often owned by folks who visit rather than live there - but not all. The lower floors house businesses. Some of my favorites in town!

I guess if I was going to spend a mill on a house it would be a large ranch and huge lodge - but that's just me.

The sister on the right has been here longer and thus..the vegetation on it is a bit older.

I made sure that my shots offered here did not invade privacy in any way. I shot during the time of day that light was reflected off the windows. I love the little maple on the penthouse roof!!

I have to wonder though..is that a birdhouse or a camera??

Yup..on the bottom level of the sister on the left is our favorite bakery and doggy watchin' spot.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!! Namaste, Sarah

Sarah, I'm with you. If I had a mill to spend it certainly wouldn't be on a condo. I would have a huge house and an even bigger piece of land. Your photos are great. I think you could be onto something in regards to the birdhouse. It very well could be an inconspicuous camera in hiding. Great shootout.

Hello.
The birdhouse of the roof is pretty.
The blue sky is more splendid.

My first friend, Sarah.
I changed some layouts of my blog.
I make trial and error since I made blog for the first time in this July.
Your blog served as a reference very much.
Thank you.

I too don't typically find condos inspiring. You did a nice job and that is one large birdhouse...camera??

Love how blue the sky is in all of these shots!
And yes, I wonder if it is a camera too.

Very pretty! I have wondered, too, why people would buy $500,000 warehouse lofts around here as opposed to buying a HUGE house just outside of the city. Glad to know it's not just me that thinks that way :)

our two places in Brasil don't add up to a mil... but are both 'condos', one house and one apartment but the external maintenance and grounds are kept without out our help. We are older, travel a bit, and really don't care to have grass to mow.... so this building works for me....
good job Sarah

The simplicity of modern buildings has its own beauty and its own charm, which you've captured very well.

Hi Sarah. What blue skies you have there! A small-ish high rise was built in my town a few years ago (7 stories) and it will never happen again b/c there was such an uproar over it. But it has begun to look more like part of the city as time goes on. And what views it has!

Yes I'm not into living in a tall building either ..but you did a great job of photographing it for us!

The blueness of the sky is overwhelming. The angles and details on the buildings are stunning. Thank you for posting.

Sarah, thanks for this refreshing take on the assignment. You captured the condo and its life very well. Condos are not for me, now, but I could see myself in one when I'm older.

I didn't think I could possibly enjoy shots of a condo - and I'm very happy to have been surprised! I think your photos are all the more enjoyable because of that.

I like how this looks like a building in a huge metropolis, but is on a lake, with I'm sure a great view.

I like older architecture too, but this condo looks like a classy place to live.
Yeah, I think I could be happy there.

:)

Great photos!

You got my curiosity up now, and I think it would be a camera...I always liked the fake ole owls you see in trees to keep birds off of the terraces of buildings like that!

I think the birdhouse/camera? looks like a mailbox....maybe they get airmail :)
