Friday My Town Shoot Out...
I think I mentioned on my main blog the other day..I love where I live! I really do. We headed out to the nearby woods this week with the kids to have a bit of nature breather. Last year we didn't have a car..had not for six years...so to get out to the woods this spring and early summer has been heavenly!!
I love the Pacific NW..all the moss that covers things and ferns and flora..makes my heart sing! Little waterfalls and creeks to visit!
Closer to home is Tubbs Hill...just down the street from midtown...right into nature..and the kids love the lake...
A bit of sandstone in a river bed.
Some really big rocks in the bay taken from up on Tubbs.
I thought I might add a little tourmaline..I love this piece..one of my hubby's collection..looks like blood droplets..perfect for the coming debut of the new Twilight movie...I know but I like them!!
Hope you all have a wonderful week!!

You have a great place to live there, I wouldn't mind trading place with my urban home!
Same here I love the country side. and your stones that looks like blood droplets on it is amazing and so pretty. A keeper for sure. Happy Friday.

That last shot is amazing. I've never seen anything like it before. Love your sandstone in the river bed, too!
Did we go to the same place to take our rock photos? LOL
The scenic hike is so similar. Except I didn't find a crystal like yours.
I love the Pacific NW too! You don't always have to have a car because many beautiful places are accessible without one, but you're right--it really does help.
Does the tourmaline come from Idaho?
The crystal is very beautiful...
The molding of the Nature is grand.
Greetings.

Oh Sarah I loved your contribution to FSO. I love rocks too, whereever I find them. I too have studied Reike, Healing Touch and was a massage therapist for addition to my RN skills in pain management. That is where I learned of Kwan Yin also. Had a hard time reconciling that with Christian beliefs but soon realized that does not cancel out my Christian faith. Thanks for stopping by.

Wow, an incredible crystal you've got there! and a lovely shot of the shoreline. Great Shootout!
could those be garnets on your tourmaline? I love the way nature throws these together. The museum of natural science in Houston has a wonderful collection. Great FSO.
Sara, I too love moss covered anything. It's so beautiful. Your photos are gorgeous as ever and I would love to be going to that lake everyday.
Oh, I could never have been without a car for six months. My car is my security blanket.
LOl JarieLyn..was six years actually...long time..but we are in the middle of town..so we managed.
Actually the tournaline comes in many colors....but my hubby has some lovely garnets too:)
fantastic series of rocks Sarah. my question is, does his flip flops come off when he hits the water? (fifth shot)
I like the journey of rock places but I was surprised and lil shock to see the last photo. I really thought it's blood droplets until i read it's the promotion of twilight movie saga. I can't wait to watch eclipse.
Sarah I love the Pacific Northwest too. If I had to leave the NE I'd move to the NW, These photos just make it more appealing.
Love the one from your hubbies collection. Fascinating.
it looks like you had a wonderful wandering! such a gorgeous area and wow to that crystal. Wishing you a lovely Sunday!
Nice to see your beautiful side of the country!
