The kids and I headed up to the woods this weekend for some hiking and fun. Along the way the kids helped me spy a few things to share today.
This was the best part of Fox's day. He very gently caught him so we could snap a pic and then let him go. We decided that he truly looked like a real fairy as he flew off. Happy to be rid of us. Isn't he just beautiful!
These caught the eye!!
Fox spied out this sweet little mushroom for me...
Of course this fungus just screamed..stop and take a look!

Your pictures certain make Idaho look beautiful.
Though, your part of Idaho is. My dad grew up in Blackfoot, not as pretty there.
A wonderful nature walk!
So much to see! I love all the little fungus! And that praying mantis is so cooL!
Lovely photos, once again, Sarah! Aren't fungi fun to take pictures of? Lots of interesting shapes, textures and colors, and they don't move in the breeze!
Cool photo of the Praying Mantis too! Did you hold your finger down in front of his head and slowly move it back and forth, and watch his head turn from side to side? The Praying Mantis is the only insect that is able to do that!
Thanks so much for sharing the treasures of your journey!
Amazing ...there is nothing you cant do Honker.

I like the last fungus image - great colour. Nice macro work!
Cool idea. I love macro too, as you know. :) Getting kids involved in the world of photography is excellent I think. Let them be creative. :)
